The town of Võru is situated in southeastern Estonia not far from the borders of Latvia of Russia. It is 270 kilometers from Võru to Tallinn 280 kilometers Võru to Riga.
The town of Petseri lies at 60 kilometes and the town of Pihkva at 100 kilomters from Võru. Both towns are cerainly worth visiting- Petseri for its well-known Russian Orthodox monastery and Pihkva for its ancient Kremlin. Their vicinity to Võru makes them ideal targets for one-day outings.
Other sights of interest near Võru are the highest mountain in the Baltic states, called Suur-Munamägi, the sand caves of Piusa, and the beautiful scenery of Haanja- Rõuge region.
